Ildong Group Explores Business Opportunities at 'EAST-WEST Biopharma Summit' Seoul Event R&D Subsidiaries Including Ildong Pharmaceutical, Yunovia, iLead BMS, and Idience Participate Together Co-CEO Chae Joon Lee Delivers Lecture on 'Innovation and Partnership Building Strategies for Korean Pharmaceutical Companies' Ildong Pharmaceutical Group participated in the Seoul edition of the global pharmaceutical and biotech investment conference 'East-West Biopharma Summit', introducing its novel drug R&D strategy and key pipelines while exploring business opportunities. The 'East-West Biopharma Summit' is a conference co-hosted by 'BioCentury' — a U.S.-based pharmaceutical and biotech knowledge and information platform — and 'BayHelix' — a business leader organization in the medical, health, and pharmaceutical sectors — with the Korea Bio Association and Invest Seoul participating as local organizing bodies. This year marked the first time the event was held in South Korea. Held at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul from the 9th to the 11th, the event brought together approximately 300 participants including opinion leaders and investors in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors from 12 countries worldwide — including the United States, Singapore, and Japan — as well as domestic and international industry stakeholders, fostering business exchange and collaboration. Ildong Pharmaceutical Group participated as a group, with R&D subsidiaries including Ildong Pharmaceutical, Yunovia, Idience (specializing in anticancer drug development), and iLead BMS (a novel drug substance discovery company) joining together to conduct IR presentations and partnering meetings with domestic and international pharmaceutical and biotech companies and stakeholders. For Ildong Pharmaceutical and Yunovia, BD&LG Group Head Yeonhee Pi served as presenter, highlighting clinical research achievements and the competitive strengths and differentiating factors of novel drug candidates including ▲GLP-1 receptor agonist obesity and diabetes treatment 'ID110521156' ▲P-CAB peptic ulcer treatment 'padoprazan'. Idience showcased its promising anticancer drug pipeline including ▲PARP inhibitor oral targeted anticancer therapy 'venadaparib' ▲pan-KRAS inhibitor ▲Antibody-Drug Conjugate (ADC), while iLead BMS presented innovative drug candidates such as 'IL21120033', an autoimmune disease treatment with an 'Ago-PAM' mechanism, exploring partnership and license-out opportunities related to commercialization. President: Chae Joon Lee, Co-CEO of Ildong Pharmaceutical, also participated as a speaker in a forum addressing various current issues in the global pharmaceutical and biotech market, delivering a lecture on the theme of 'Strategies for Innovation and Partnership Building in the Korean Pharmaceutical Industry' as a leader of a domestic pharmaceutical company. President Lee introduced Ildong Group's 'One Team' collaborative framework across Ildong Pharmaceutical, Yunovia, iLead BMS, and Idience, emphasizing the need for an R&D strategy that simultaneously achieves enhanced efficiency through division of labor and specialization among subsidiaries, as well as organic cooperation. He also cited the collaboration between Ildong Group and Daewon Pharmaceutical through the P-CAB drug candidate 'padoprazan' as a case study, proposing that commercialization strategies based on open innovation — including partnerships not only between affiliated companies but also between different organizations — can serve as an effective model for advancing into the global market. |
